My name is Kellea Croft, I am 47 years old and I am an artist. Sounds like a recovering alcohol announcement. Art is my soul! It is how I function daily. I have many health issues and creating is the reason my feet hit the ground each day.
I am not a writer, I am an artist. If you came looking for grammatically correct and totally structured blog, you haven’t found it. I write from the heart about a subject I love….Art.
This website is about being an artist, finding your muse, believing in yourself and I probably will rant on a bit as well.
I have been painting since my mother first handed me a set of crayons. Nature always held a great fascination for the way it spoke to me in colours and sound. Then I sat on my first castle wall in Germany and history became my fantasy world. I could see the people walking, the smells of the animals and sounds of their speech. I stopped creating when listening to everyone telling me to come back to reality (my home’s walls were murals with stencils and designs though). After being diagnosed with cancer in my 30s I decided I have to go back to what my passion is… Art in all its forms.
I work in graphite realism, mixed media of acrylic/pastel for my animals, and full colour inks/inktense pencils for portraits.
Animals with a story to tell are my favourite subjects, but women’s masks and how we show ourselves to the world is another.
I am a geek, history fanatic and fantasy believer. Is that all of me…nah, much more complicated than that. Read on and you will find out.
